Gal Itach

Executive Overview

Gal Itach is a software architect and fractional CTO, and the founder of Valorem. He has been building production software since 2010, with a career spent on the hard end of the stack: ransomware prevention and browser security at Microsoft, data-discovery infrastructure at BigID as a Principal Engineer, and mobile forensic extraction at Cellebrite. He holds three U.S. patents and a master's in computer science and cyber security, taken with highest honours. His fractional practice covers:

• native iOS and Android engineering in Swift and Kotlin

Founder & CTO of ValoremAI (Feb 2025 to present), an AI-powered people-analytics platform. Senior Software Engineer at Microsoft (Jan 2022 to Feb 2025): ransomware prevention and security and content inspection on Microsoft Edge for Business. Principal Software Engineer at BigID (2019 to 2022), where he cut scan time across all data sources by more than 60% and co-managed hiring. Senior Software Engineer at Cellebrite (2019 to 2020, contract), leading the flagship Android forensic solution to completion. Since Feb 2026 he has been sole game engineer on Covenant Cards (freelance). Alongside client work he runs Valorem as an independent studio, shipping and maintaining his own portfolio of applications, including the Petal Games collection, Milim Li, Kanji4Kids, Wend and TipStash. MSc Computer Science (Cyber Security) and BSc Computer Science, Jerusalem Multidisciplinary College, both with highest honours.
